New Teachers

PHS Welcomes Trio Of New Teachers

Perkins High School students will see a trio of new teachers in the building during the 2019-2020 school year.

Among them is – Madison Hermes – who was a Perkins Pirate not too long ago. Ms. Hermes, a 2015 PHS grad, is a speech-language pathologist at the high school, as well as Briar Middle School.

She is a 2019 graduate of Cleveland State University.

Also joining the high school teaching staff this school year is Jacqueline Schroeder, who teaches instrumental music at Briar Middle School and Perkins High School. She also is the assistant marching band director.

Ms. Schroeder is a first-year teacher and recently graduated from the Ohio State University, where she marched in the band.

Alexa Almond, one of PHS's new teachers for the 2019-2020The third new PHS teacher is Alexa Almond. Ms. Almond is an intervention specialist and takes the position previously held by Chris Guss, who now is the Director of Special Education for Perkins Schools.

Ms. Almond comes to PHS with three years experience, most recently at Perrysburg Junior High School. She is a 2016 graduate of Bowling Green State University and a 2012 graduate of Eastwood High School in Pemberville.
